Marriage in the Ernst-August-Salon
The stylish and historic Ernst-August-Salon in the Kronenburg is available for civil wedding ceremonies. In addition to the bride and groom and witnesses, the hall has 20 seats. The duration of use is limited to 45 minutes.
Reservations for a wedding at Burg Bentheim can be made at the registry office in Bad Bentheim. Dates for 2025 and 2026 can be booked now:

General
You can of course also get married in the castle if you do not live in Bad Bentheim. However, you must register the marriage at the registry office in your place of residence. This is possible at the earliest six months before the planned date of the marriage. The local registry office responsible for you will provide information on which documents are required for a civil marriage.
In addition to the statutory fees for a civil wedding ceremony, a fee of € 390 (Friday mornings), € 490 (Friday afternoons) and € 540 (Saturday mornings) is payable for the provision of the rooms, which covers all additional expenses. This fee also includes permission to take photographs inside the rooms and the castle courtyard.
Wedding photos
You can also have your wedding photos taken at Burg Bentheim independently of a civil ceremony. Please note that you are responsible for organizing a photographer. We only provide the castle grounds as a backdrop. Wedding photos can only be taken during our general opening hours. During your stay, please follow the instructions of the supervisory staff, who are authorized to give instructions.
The cost for wedding photos is €180 for a maximum of 8 people. Each additional adult as well as children and young people pay the reduced admission price (see visitor information). Payment is made directly at the castle ticket office on the day of your visit. How long you stay on the castle grounds for your photo shoot is at your discretion. We do not set a time limit.
We are happy to provide you with access to the Ernst-August-Salon, where the wedding ceremonies take place, for your photo shoots. All publicly accessible rooms are also at your disposal. The Prinzessinnengarten and parts of the Kronenburg are not available. Please note that the furniture in the exhibition rooms cannot be used and that photography is prohibited in St. Catherine’s Church.
Only registered — and confirmed by us — photo shoots can be guaranteed to take place. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee admission without confirmation of your reservation, which you must show at the castle ticket office.

NOTE
During the warm season, civil weddings take place on the castle grounds on Fridays and sometimes Saturdays.
Out of consideration for the bridal couples, we are therefore unable to offer you the castle as a backdrop for your wedding pictures on these dates. The dates on which wedding ceremonies take place and therefore no shootings can take place can be found at the top of this page.
