Experience the castle up close

Once built to protect its inha­bi­tants, Bentheim Castle is now an exci­ting excur­sion desti­na­tion for visi­tors of all ages. Expe­ri­ence the
history of the castle, the prin­cely family and the mighty sand­stone buil­ding behind the historic walls. Discover the original rooms, such as Queen Emma’s lovingly furnished bedchamber, the beau­tiful Knights’ Hall or the historic Ernst August Salon of the largest hilltop castle in northwest Germany.

A castle tour is a wonderful way to discover the castle — accom­pa­nied by a castle guide who can show you every corner and all the facts about the old walls.

Note: No private castle tours can be offered during the Christmas market at Burg Bentheim from 29.11. to 22.12.2024. The castle will also only be open on Satur­days and Sundays from January 6 to February 13, 2025.

The fee, which is paid directly to the castle guide, is €39.
In addi­tion, there is the entrance fee per person.

In combi­na­tion with a private guided tour of the castle, you only have to pay the reduced admis­sion price. You can find our admis­sion prices in the visitor infor­ma­tion.

Guided tours are available every day the castle is open. A guided tour must be booked at least 10 days in advance (last-minute requests can be made by tele­phone).

A guided tour of the castle lasts approx. 1.5 hours and can be booked indi­vi­du­ally between 10:00 and 16:30 (november to february: 10:00 and 15:30).
